Advanced Remote Sensing for Mapping, Monitoring and Management of the Environment

The Summer School will take place from 6-10 November Hanoi, Vietnam, directly after the 31st Asian Conference on Remote Sensing.

One of Hanoi's cultural treasures: One Pillar Pagoda.

General information
The Summer School will continue the very successful tradition of the previous summer schools since 2005. It includes lectures, practical labs but also social events, an excursion and much fun. Apart from acquiring new knowledge in an informal environment, this is an excellent opportunity to meet lecturers and young people and strengthen your network.

The topics of the school are:

  • topographic mapping from high-resolution satellite sensors
  • change detection with focus on landcover / landuse, agriculture and ecosystems
  • microwave remote sensing with focus on forestry applications
  • natural hazards
The number of participants will be restricted to 50, with selection based generally on the date of registration (see more details under “Fees and Registration”).
